How To Prep For A Marathon

The Austin Marathon is right around the corner and we are here to give you a few tips on final prep. These are things you might already be doing, and a few you can throw in for a last minute boost:

  1. Increase weekly mileage by no more than 10%
  2. Monitor your resting heart rate
  3. Take at least one day completely off each week
  4. Alternate a hard day and an easy day
  5. SKIP leg day for two weeks before the race
  6. Make a race day gear check list
  7. Strategize your supplement and food
  8. Plan your pre and post race massage
